The dumpsite was reshaped into a more stable shape, with an extension of the footprint into a rectangular shape occupying an area of approximately 40,000 square meters at the base; with such extension allowing reduction of side slopes into a safer shape. The existing dumpsite was completely closed in front of any incoming solid waste, as the new adjacent sanitary landfill became operational. The final closure design was completed for the dumpsite in line with international practices.
