The assignment included the detailed design for the overall PV solar energy system at estimated 7 MWp capacity for KY WWTP, phase I, and tender documents for the different phases/packages. Also, the consultant provided technical assistance services for the construction, commissioning and handing over of the first phase of this solar energy system with a capacity of at least 1.3 MWp.
The Specific objectives of the assignment were:

The Specific objectives of the assignment were:
- Perform and produce a comprehensive and completed detailed design for an extendable and phased solar energy system for KY WWTP at estimated 7 MWp capacity.
- Produce complete sets of tender documents for the construction of different and integrated phases of the solar energy system for KY WWTP.
- Provide technical assistance through the construction, commissioning and handing over stages of the first phase of the solar energy system.
- Ensure that the overall project is fully operational and performing in conformity with design and contracts requirements
- Carrying out a grid study to evaluate the potential impact of the plant on grid stability. A grid study is an analytical framework for evaluating a power system. Grid study simulates the operation of the power system under different PV energy penetration scenarios, identifies reliability constraints, and determines the relative cost of actions to integrate PV energy.
- Conducting a Microgrid study that is designed to maintain KYWWTP’s mission-critical loads in service when the utility fails.
